The goal is for the students to remember what they have learned and to be able to dance on their own, without the teachers’ help. There will be homework.
For the first 15 minutes of class, we will socialize, get to know each other, create community.
The next half hour will be devoted to reviewing the past week’s lesson (during the first week we will use this time to learn basic timing and posture) and then learning one or two new moves in a smooth or rhythm dance (Foxtrot, Waltz, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, or Hustle).
The next half hour will be devoted similarly to learning a latin dance (Rhumba, ChaCha, Samba, Salsa or Tango).
For the last 15 minutes of class, we will practice all the moves we have learned.
